How to connect Metamask to the Arbitrum One network

In this guide we will explain how to connect your MetaMask wallet to the popular Arbitrum One network. Once you are connected, you can start investing in the network’s various DeFi protocols while having the benefits of low transaction fees and high security due to its Optimistic Rollups.

Step 1. Open MetaMask #

The first thing you need to do is to open your the web browser. Click the MetaMask extension in the top right corner.

Step 2. Go to settings #

Click on the logo in the top right corner of your MetaMask wallet and click on ‘Settings’.

Step 3. Go to networks #

In the settings menu, click ‘Networks’. A list opens that contains all the networks that your MetaMask wallet can connect to. Click the ‘Add Network’ button at the bottom of the networks window.

Step 4. Add the network details #

A new window will appear. MetaMask will ask you to enter the details of the new network. You will need the following data: Network Name, New RPC, ChainID, Symbol and Block Explorer. To add the Arbitrum network, enter the network details below:

Remember that all transactions on the Arbitrum One network are paid with AETH.

Step 5. Connect your MetaMask to the Arbitrum One network #

Before you can use this Ethereum layer 2 solution, you must connect your MetaMask wallet to the Arbitrum One network. You can do so by clicking on the current network in the top right of your MetaMask wallet. Then click on Arbitrum One.
