In this article we will show you how to verify if a MasterChef contract on the Arbitrum network has a Timelock. If you want to read more about Timelocks, read this article.
Step 1. Get the MasterChef #
Do have a farm in mind? Good! The first thing you need to do is find the farm’s MasterChef contract address. You can locate it by following the steps in this article. Once you have found the MasterChef contract address, copy the address and paste it in the search field on the Arbitrum block explorer.
Another way to do this if by going through our list of reviewed farms on our website rugdoc.io and click on the ‘MasterChef’ button. This will directly open the MasterChef contract address in the Arbitrum block explorer.
Step 2. Verify the MasterChef owner #
Once you have opened the MasterChef contract address in the Arbitrum explorer, click on ‘Read Contract’. In this guide, we will use JaguarSwap’s MasterChef contract.
Scroll down until you reach the ‘owner’ section and click on the listed address.
Step 3. Verify the Timelock #
A new page should have opened with information about the owner. Click on the ‘Code’ tab. You will now see the type of contract that is the owner of the MasterChef contract. If it says ‘Timelock’ as a contract name, the MasterChef is owned by a Timelock contract.
Step 4. Verify Timelock Delay #
Now that we have verified the Timelock as being the owner of the MasterChef contract, we recommend checking the Timelock delay. To do so, click on the ‘Read Contract’ button on the Timelock page.
Now look for the ‘delay’ line. The value in this field is in seconds. To convert it to hours, divide it by 3600. In this example (JaguarSwap’s Timelock), the minimum delay is set to 10800 which is 3 hours.
