Bridging Assets from Other Chains to IoTex via ioTube Bridge #

Now that we know and have met the prerequisites, let’s move forward to see the process step-by-step. In this tutorial, we will use the Metamask Web3 wallet. If you do not have Metamask yet, set up your Metamask wallet first.

Step 1 – Visit The ioTube Bridge #

Head over to the ioTube Bridge and select Enter App. When you are interacting with any bridge or visiting a page that relates to crypto transactions, always make sure that you are on the right link. Because scammers can put up similar-looking websites to deceive you, and a lot of people have lost their money to these kinds of scams. In this case, the link should be https://iotube.org

When you click on Enter App button, it will take you to the following screen:

Step 2 – Connect Web3 Wallet and IoTeX Network #

Clicking on the Connect Wallet button will prompt us to select our Web 3 Browser wallet. In this case, the Browser Wallet is Metamask. ioTube v5 is the latest bridge of IoTeX, and it supports Web3 wallets only.

We recommend trying this from Laptop/PC only.

When we click on the Browser Wallet, we’ll see a pop-up from the Metamask browser extension. Allow it to connect to the IoTeX network. We can also manually add the IoTeX Network on Metamask.

Step 3 – Select The From and To Chain #

Now we need the select the chain from which we will transfer assets and the chain in which we intend to send the assets. The user experience of the webpage is user-friendly and self-explanatory.

Select the from and to chain in IOtube.

As shown in the image above, we can see the From and To Blockchains. From the dropdown menu, we can select Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or Polygon (Matic).

Choose my wallet as the receiving wallet

By clicking on My Wallet we can see the ioTeX Wallet Address.

enter your wallet address in iotube

We recommend double-checking it by clicking on My Wallet to make sure in which ioTeX wallet address will the funds be deposited.

Step 4 – Click on Convert to Complete the Transfer #

Once we have selected the amount and made sure the Sender and Destination chain, click on Convert to successfully bridge assets from other chains to IoTeX.

Screenshots in the earlier step show Invalid amount in the button box because our selected wallet addresses didn’t have any funds. The Convert text will appear in the place of Invalid amount if we do everything as stated earlier.

If you are bridging assets from other chains to IoTeX and followed this tutorial, Congratulations! You have successfully bridged your asset to IoTeX. You can also verify the transfer by visiting IoTex Explorer. Simply go to https://iotexscan.io/ and search your wallet address to find all the details.

Verify your transaction on the IoTeX exporer

To remain extra cautious and vigilant we recommend that you always try transacting a minimal amount first when you are unsure about something or testing something for the first time in Crypto.
