Do you want to find out when a DeFi farm starts, without relying on Telegram or on the farm’s website? Via this guide we will show you how to identify the start block of a farm on the Avalanche network.

Step 1. Find the MasterChef contract address #

In this example, we will use Olive Cashs’ MasterChef contract. If you are not sure how to find the MasterChef contract of a farm, then read this article. You can also navigate to our website rugdoc.io and open one of the linked MasterChef contracts. Once you have found the MasterChef contract address, paste it in the search bar of the Avax block explorer and hit enter.

Step 2. Find the Start Block #

Once you have opened the MasterChef contract address, click on the “Read Contract” button on the right side of the window.

Scroll down until you find the ‘startBlock’ section. In this case the startBlock is 914777.
